Sun Awareness Week
Published: 2022-05-04

Sun Awareness week is the beginning of a summer long Sun Awareness campaign by The British Association of Dermatologists. They use this week to re-enforce the need for sun protection across the UK and inspire people to raise awareness themselves. This year’s theme for Sun Awareness Week is early detection. With most of the population having spent much of the past year inside their homes due to multiple lockdowns, less people will have been checking their moles or skin for changes, or would have hesitated when they should have booked an appointment with their GP. They want to highlight the importance of early detection; getting to know your skin and checking moles regularly can greatly improve prognosis.
